A free program for both Macs and Pcs is Index Your Files. You simply choose which files you wish to score, customize how it is sorted, downloaded and installed. In order to speed up queries, Windows automatically indexes every file on your computer, including its own files, groups, and drives. You need a strong dedicated search and indexing tool, ideally one that is also quick, in order to fully benefit from having your files indexed. Although some of the capabilities are excellent, not all of them are equally helpful or even great.
